Specialised Geo sponsored Race 2 in the Newcastle Cystic Fibrosis Race Day 2016 held 6th August at Broadmeadow Racecourse. Below are the results of the race:
RACE 2 – Specialised GEO Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate 1250m
Sebag – to be ridden more forward; settled outside lead.
Pianissimo – Stable representative S Page was advised that a warning would be recorded against the gelding which was difficult to load.
Arabian – missed the start slightly. Making the first turn commenced to race keenly and had to be steadied away from the heels of Mosaytion. Rider C Lever reported that gelding travelled well on the bridle in the early and middle stages however rounding the home turn could not quicken when placed under pressure and in his opinion did not handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative S Page concurred with the thoughts of C Lever that the gelding had not handled today’s heavy track conditions.
Sunday Swindler – laid out under pressure in the straight.

The crew at Specialised Geo are hosting a beyondblue Bash to help raise money for research, awareness and support for those suffering from anxiety and depression.
In an industry filled with tough, hard-working men it is easy to fall into the trap thinking and believing tough blokes working in dangerous conditions would ever feel depressed and anxious.
This stigma leads everyone to believe it is a sign of weakness in your character and as a result these toxic feelings of doubt, insecurity and self-worth are suppressed, bottled up… joked about when in reality they need help.
Depression and anxiety in men can manifest in other ways such as alcohol and substance abuse, gambling addiction, aggression or fits of rage… overall bad choices that have a ripple effect on loved ones.
This #beyondblueBash is a great time to get our guys together and share a true blue BBQ, have a blue Gatorade or two, and have a basketball shoot-out competition. You never know, it might just have the right impact to bring someone out of a very deep, dark place we never knew they were struggling with in the first place.
Specialised Geo once again sponsored a race in the Peabody Energy race Day, also known as the Newcastle Cystic Fibrosis Race Day on Saturday, 8th August. It was a great day of racing and raising funds to make the lives of local people with Cystic Fibrosis easier.
