Last year, in August, an exclusive business function prepared by Specialised Geo was held at Tulloch’s Wines, a famous family owned vineyard in the Hunter Valley region, in New South Wales.
Specialised GEO”s CEO Rachel Metcalf presented to Hunter Business Chamber at Tulloch Wineries in NSW.
The one-night event themed as “ My Business is your Business,” was attended by the members of the prestigious organisation Hunter Business Chamber. Rachel Metcalf, Specialised Geo’s CEO, discussed the beginnings of Specialised Geo and their expertise in Rockfall protection, Slope and ground stabilisation, Rope access, Mining safety and Railway corridor protection.
Leigh Hennes, Specialised Geo’s Managing Director was also present at the event, along with the other SG team members.
Wine tasting followed after the programme, where the Specialised Geo team, the Hunter Business Chamber members and the Tulloch family mingled and enjoyed the rest of the night.

Five days to go and Coffs Coast will be bustling with excitement as it hosts the Coates Hire Australian Rally Championships, the Off-Road Championships and the Round 10 of Australian leg of the 2013 FIA World Rally Championships!
We can expect to watch high-powered bush racing monsters fly during this 3-day event that will start on September 12th until September 15th!
This year is the Rally Race’s second visit to Coffs Harbour, the first one being in 2011. Rally Australia alternates with Rally New Zealand on a yearly basis.
New for 2013 is a rally hub in the Centre of Coffs Harbour, which incorporates the service park and a mixed surface super special stage. It will feature two cars at a time with a simultaneous start on the opposite sides of the former velodrome oval, before breaking out onto surrounding streets and finishing back in the oval.
On Sunday the 15th and the last day of competition, the race will go right past the Eastern Dorrigo Way and we are so thrilled because we are currently working on slope stabilisation project in the said location. In 2011, Specialised Geo was awarded a road remediation contract to repair and fix six landslip sites in the area. It can be remembered that the area was hit again by heavy rains in February of this year causing further damage in the landslip sites. At present, with Specialised Geo’s skills and expertise in slope and road stabilisation, there is most likely 1 to 2 months left to complete the project. We will just have a week standby due to the rally, but as always, we guarantee the project is completed on time and on budget.
Anyway, we are expecting the rally race to be spectacular, fun and exciting considering the quality of the drivers, the cars, and all that has been put in place to ensure that this event is a success.
Complete details of the event, race routes and the list of competitors are available through the organiser’s website at

Rain Rain Rain….what”s the saying? When it rains it pours?! All three of our current site locations were rained out last week, but we are back on deck at Kuranda, and managed to get into our Coffs Harbour site on Thursday for a look and it seems to have held up ok. The jury is still out on the third site, as we have been unable to get to it as yet….
